What To Expect During Your Massage Session

When you come for your first visit, you will be asked to fill out a health information form. If you would like to fill out the form at home, Click Here for a printable copy. This will give me a general idea of your overall health, and any areas that may need more attention or that should be avoided. On each subsequent visit I will ask you if there have been any changes in your health, or if you have any immediate needs.

I will also ask you what your expectation in receiving a massage is and may be you can give some thought as to why you are coming in for a session.

The massage session is about you. You need to feel comfortable at all times. I will ask you what type of pressure you prefer and during the session ask you again if the pressure is good. You should never feel uncomfortable, and if at any time you have discomfort please let me know.

The table is heated and I do use a space heater if the room becomes too cold. Please let me know immediately if you are too warm or too cold and I can adjust the temperature accordingly.

Once I have gone through your history, we will decide what you would like to have worked on first. Depending on your need, we will start the session face up or face down. I will then leave the massage room, which is private, so that you may disrobe to your level of comfort. There are hangers for your clothes and a chair for you to sit on.

The table is covered with a sheet which you will lie under. At all times your privacy will be maintained and only the body part I am working on will be exposed at any given time.

During the massage if you are able to relax into an introspective space, it will be very beneficial to the mind and the body to be quiet during the session. This facilitates a deeper relaxation which allows the massage work to encompass the body as well as the mind.

I use a lotion to lubricate the skin which makes it easier to work on the muscles. I also use pure, authentic essential oils during your session, which are customized according to your needs. Essential oils can be used to support healthy joint & cartilage function, support healthy lung function, and support the immune system. Essential oils are also used to evoke relaxation, inner balance, and calm.

Please feel free to communicate any concerns you have about your massage at any time, before, during or after your session.

After your first session I will give you a follow up call in a few days to see how you are feeling and address any questions or concerns you may have.

Please feel free to contact me through my Contact Me form, or to call me if you have any questions before your session.
